How I Work
My strengths lie in my concepting. I have a lot of ideas when a project is presented to me. The first thing I do is I just think. I bang ideas around in my head and I research. I grab my sketch book and get them on paper, and then I do dummy mock ups (like this one). This is an old school way of doing things, but it's the best way. The young talent of today can learn a lot from the old school way. I always encourage the Designers on my teams to do it this way, because it fleshes out the ideas and gets the best ones to the presentation. I have seen too many young Designers jump on a computer right away and sit there and stare. You just can't do it that way. This project is the season brochure for the Saint Mary's University Page Theatre. The Page Theatre presents dance and musicals each season. The past brochures have always been a standard booklet with a 4-color image and text of each performance. The pieces felt cluttered and busy. I wanted to open it up. I felt it needed to be bold and clean and dynamic. This project is currently in progress. I'll show you the final result when it's completed.
